NACCHO is committed to providing an outstanding experience for all participants. We strive for full access to the activities of these events based on an awareness of participants' needs and appropriate planning 

Mobility  

The Baltimore Convention Center (BCC) is an ADA-compliant facility, and offers accessible entrances, elevators, and restrooms to accommodate guests with disabilities.  

For additional assistance at the convention center, they have on-site ADA contact available. Guests can reach out to accessibility@bccenter.org for support or specific accessibility requests. 

Scooter Rental 

If you have mobility issues and would like to rent a motorized scooter while in Baltimore, please contact Scootaround  They have several options for rentals and offer delivery and pick-up service.

Accessible Entrances 

All entrances to the BCC are accessible. Various elevators operate between lobbies, exhibit halls, meeting rooms and ballroom foyer to provide patrons with ease of access to each level of the building on the East and West sides. 

 
Accessible Seating 

The BCC provides accessible seating locations throughout the building in our public lobby spaces.  

Accessible seating in meeting spaces is also available upon request. 

Restrooms and Water Stations 

 All public restrooms are wheelchair accessible. 

Fully accessible water stations located throughout the Center. 

  • Level 100 – Outside of all restrooms 
    Level 200 – Otterbein Lobby 
    Level 300 – Outside of all restrooms 

Emergency Evacuation  

The Baltimore Convention Center is equipped with an emergency alert system which has both flashing strobes and voice alarms.Shape 

Low Vision 

The BCC provides large print and braille signage. Detectable elements are located under protruding objects. Shape 

Quiet Room  

Need a break? Step away from the busy conference environment to a designated quiet room free from the sounds and activity of the meeting. Check the meeting app for specific room location. 

Closed Captioning 

Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART) captioning will be displayed on screen in all plenary sessions.

Food Restrictions and Allergies  

We ensure that NACCHO events offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free food options. Food stations will have menu labels clearly indicating ingredients and/or accommodations. Please include your food restrictions and specific allergies on your registration form. Shape 

Lactation Rooms 

There are two (2) nursing room locations within the Baltimore Convention Center. One is on the first floor in Charles Street Lobby, and the other is outside Meeting Rooms 341 and 342/ Level 300. Shape 

OTHER 

Service Animals  

Service Animals are permitted at the Baltimore Convention Center. The ADA defines a service animal as any guide dog, signal dog, or miniature horse trained to help an individual with a disability. This includes psychiatric service animals that are individually trained to provide service to individuals with psychiatric or neurological disabilities, such as preventing or interrupting impulsive or destructive behaviors.  

It does not include emotional support or comfort animals. Service animals must be harnessed, leashed or always tethered. A guest whose service animal poses a threat to the safety of other guests and employees may be asked to escort the animal off the premises.
